Change was again introduced into the world. The act of Eve and Adam in violation of God’s command brought sin into the world.
We have to return to the definitions of sin that we introduced earlier. Sin refers to “violating of the law of God,” “breaking covenant with God,” and “willful and prideful rebellion against God.” In the case of Adam and Eve, each of these definitions would certainly apply.
The consequences of their act and the change brought about by that act were far more than they ever bargained for.
