The Best (and Worst) of Twitter

Twitter. There’s a part that’s good. There is a part that is bad, and there is a part that you wouldn’t believe. Twitter, along with other social media platforms can be used for good. But, there are a lot of things you can find on Twitter’s Christian circles that are not that good. Perhaps you have seen comments on social media that are contrary to the Christian worldview. I’d like to take a look at those statements and comments to see if we can give an answer

Has God allowed Satan to roam free without apparent restraint, or, is Satan a rogue who God cannot control? If God cannot control Satan wouldn’t make Satan more powerful than God?

There are two important questions here. Given the answer to the first query, it is now possible to answer the second question.

If God cannot control Satan wouldn’t make Satan more powerful than God?

Many regard God and Satan as evenly matched contenders, a “yin and yang” on a cosmic scale. However, this is not the case.

A few pieces of Biblical evidence will suffice for comparison.

· God is the uncreated Creator (John 1:3), while Satan is a created being (Ez. 28:15).

· God is uncreated and self-existing (John 5:26), Satan is a contingent being (Col. 1:16-17).

· God’s motivation is love (John 3:16). Satan’s motivation is pride (Ez. 28:17a).

· God extends salvation through Christ to all who will accept Him (Rom. 5:8). Satan’s plan includes working against God’s people (I Peter 5:8).

· God will give eternal life to those who believe in Him (John 3:16). Satan’s end will in destruction and Hell (Rev. 20:10, 14-15).

All of these comparisons (and more) suggest that God and Satan are not equals, but that God is the superior being. Christian theologians say that God is the Greatest Conceivable Being. Satan pales in comparison to the One True God.
