Then, how do we reconcile the information about an earth that is cursed? Again, we must look at and evaluate the evidence with objectivity.
The key may be man’s original assignment. In Genesis 1:26, man was charged with dominion over the earth. Even though Adam and Eve sinned and were thrown out of the Garden of Eden, there was no change in their assignment from God. Still, man is infected with sin in his very nature.
How could man exercise responsible dominion over the earth with a sinful and self-centered nature? How can he use the resources of the earth responsibly?
History shows us that man has not always used his resources carefully. We have seen,
· Improper farming methods.
· Strip mining.
· The American Dust Bowl.
These are all things which exhaust the land and play to the desire for immediate gain with no regard for the future.
