However, the Bible reveals that God provides food for the predator,
· “…young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God.” Psalm 104:21 (NIV)
· “Who provides for the raven its prey when its young ones cry to God for help and wander about for lack of food?” Job 38:41 (ESV)
If the Bible acknowledges that God provides for predators and that processes have been uniform throughout our history, then we can say that predation and the food cycle was a part of God’s original design plan for the Earth and its animal kingdom.
After examining the biblical materials and the record of nature in an objective manner, we have to conclude that nature was “red in tooth and claw,” that animal death occurred before the Fall, but cannot be defined as sin.
