It Was a Cruel, Cruel World: Death and Life Before and After the Fall (Part 12)

We must ask ourselves what is sin?

In the Bible, sin takes the meaning of “violating of the law of God,” “breaking covenant with God,” and “willful and prideful rebellion against God.”

Can an animal violate God’s law? Can an animal break the covenant made with God? Does an animal engage in prideful rebellion against God? The answer must be no.

We’ve seen animal documentaries, such as “Wild Kingdom,” and programs about dinosaurs, such as “Walking With Dinosaurs.” Both types of programs depict animals killing one another. Human beings are struck by these scenes and most are repulsed by them.

Perhaps this revulsion is part of the reason that some are unwilling to accept the idea that animals killed each other for food before man was created.
