My Disciples Prayer Project

Sometime ago, our Associate Pastor John Harp led a thorough study of the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). He asked us to adopt that model as a guide to prayer as a follower of Christ. These are my thoughts.

“O, God. You are the one true God. You are the creator of everything and are everlasting to everlasting. You are on Your throne in heaven, yet you see me and love me.

You are the only God there is and you alone are worthy of worship.

Thank you for saving me and for taking me into Your kingdom. You have the best plan for my life and You want to reign over me.

Your will is the best for my life, both now and forever.

Thank you for providing for me and blessing me, spiritually and materially. Please continue to give me what I need. Please continue to draw the people that I love closer to You.

Forgive me for where I have not given You first priority and loved You with everything.

Forgive me when I have not loved others.

The temptations will come today.

You allow testing. Help me to see the way out and take it.

I want to be on your side, because You are the one true God.

You have all things in the palm of Your hand.

You are God, the only God there is; You are the only One worthy of my allegiance.

Now, and in the world to come. Amen.”
