The special revelation from the Bible suggests one last purpose for the universe.

One day God’s redemptive purpose will be completed and this universe will be replaced with a better one. As the apostle John states,

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away…

This new creation will be radically different from this universe in that “death shall be no more” and that the “former things have passed away” (Rev. 21:4).
