It is also important to know that creation fulfilled God’s purposes. We like to think of the creation of man as God’s purpose in creation and it is one of the purposes. But, the Bible does give us several of God’s purposes for the creation of the universe.
So, what are some of those purposes? At this point in our discussion, we can cite three. Allow me to quote from Hugh Ross’s book Why the Universe Is the Way It Is:
- God made this universe to demonstrate His divine nature (Ps. 8)
- God made this universe for the instruction of His angels (I Cor. 4:9)
- God made this universe to display His glory and goodness (Rom. 1:21)
So, the special revelation gives us insight into the nature of God’s creation.
